I. Initial Connection with Buddhism: One-on-One Exclusive Consultation

1. Clarification of Customization Needs

Customers contact the Regong Thangka Art Consultants through official designated channels (online consultation portal, exclusive consultant contact information) to clarify the following core needs:

• Theme Selection: Customers can choose from the designated list (main Buddhas such as Sakyamuni and Bhaisajyaguru; Bodhisattvas such as Avalokitesvara and Manjushri; various mandalas, etc.), or provide their own compliant designs that conform to Buddhist rituals. (The designs are subject to review by art consultants and in accordance with religious rituals. The review takes 1-2 working days. Only after approval can the design be included in the customization scope. For non-compliant designs, specific reasons will be provided along with adjustment suggestions.)

• Style Determination: Five orthodox Regong styles are available: Color Thangka (vibrant and lively), Gold Thangka (luxurious and solemn), Black Thangka (solemn and profound), Red Thangka (warm and mellow), and Blue Thangka (elegant and tranquil). The consultant will provide suitable recommendations based on the placement scenario (home Buddhist shrine, office space, monastery venue, etc.) and the customer’s aspiration meaning.

• Size Planning: Customers need to provide the specific size of the placement space and the usage scenario. The consultant will offer accurate size recommendations based on the Thangka creation proportion and the reserved space for mounting (size error shall not exceed ±2cm; feasibility of production for special sizes needs additional confirmation).

2. Output of Customization Plan

• Recommendation of Existing Works: Based on the customer’s needs, the consultant recommends finished Thangkas in stock that meet the requirements. After the customer confirms acceptance, both parties clarify the price, mounting method, and delivery cycle, and sign the purchase agreement directly.

• Exclusive Customization Plan: If the customer chooses customization, the consultant will issue a formal customization plan within 3 working days, including:

○ Preliminary sketch for theme confirmation (1-2 revision opportunities);

○ Description of craftsmanship standards (specifications for the use of natural mineral materials/pure gold, detailed creation procedures);

○ Detailed price breakdown (including creation fee, material fee, mounting fee, service fee, etc., with no hidden costs);

○ Production cycle (specified based on size and craftsmanship complexity, with an error not exceeding ±5 working days).

The plan takes effect after confirmation by the customer via email, and any subsequent changes shall be negotiated separately.

II. Agreement Conclusion: Transparent and Standardized Protection

1. Deposit Payment and Agreement Signing

• Deposit Payment: After confirming the customization plan, the customer shall pay 30% of the total amount as a customization deposit within 3 working days (the deposit payment method shall be subject to the agreement, supporting bank transfer and official designated payment channels).

• Signing of Formal Agreement: After the deposit is received, both parties sign the Exclusive Customization Agreement for Regong Thangka (available in both electronic and paper versions, with equal legal effect). The agreement clearly specifies:

○ Basic information of both parties (customer’s identity information, our entity information);

○ Specific parameters of the customized finished product (theme, style, size, craftsmanship standards, delivery standards);

○ Craftsman matching standards (matching certified Regong painters of corresponding levels based on customization complexity and customer needs; a channel for inquiring about the painter’s qualifications shall be provided);

○ Pre-creation requirements (the painter shall prepare materials in accordance with Regong traditions, and the material preparation cycle shall be included in the total production cycle);

○ Deposit terms: The deposit is a fee for locking customization resources. Due to the uniqueness and craftsmanship particularity of customized products, if the customer unilaterally changes confirmed core terms such as design, style, and size, the deposit will not be refunded. If the agreement cannot be performed due to our reasons (e.g., failure to create in accordance with the agreement standards, failure to start production within the time limit, etc.), the deposit will be refunded twice.

III. Craftsmanship Creation: Full-Process Visual Tracking

1. Polishing with Traditional Craftsmanship

Painters create in strict accordance with the ancient craftsmanship procedures of Regong Thangka. The core links include:

• Canvas Processing: Pure cotton canvas is used, undergoing procedures such as stretching, polishing, and gluing (with natural bone glue) to ensure the canvas is flat and durable.

• Raw Material Preparation: Natural mineral pigments (such as lapis lazuli, malachite, cinnabar), plant pigments, and gold foil are used (in accordance with the specifications agreed in the agreement). These materials are manually ground and mixed to ensure pure color that remains unchanged over time.

• Core Creation: The creation follows rituals: drafting (outlining with a pencil, subject to review by the art consultant), layered coloring (multiple rounds of shading to ensure uniform color), meticulous line drawing (detailing with wolf-hair brushes), and gold application/gilding (using pure gold foil or gold powder in accordance with craftsmanship standards). Each step embodies the painter’s spiritual practice and concentration. No machine substitution or cutting corners is allowed throughout the process.

2. Real-Time Progress Feedback and Instalment Payment

• Progress Synchronization: At key creation nodes (finalization of the preliminary sketch, completion of coloring, before face painting, initial inspection of the finished product), the consultant will send high-definition photos (with a resolution of no less than 1080P) or videos (with a duration of no less than 30 seconds, focusing on detail display) within 2 working days. Customers may put forward reasonable revision suggestions (limited to adjustments that do not violate Buddhist rituals and craftsmanship standards; major revisions require negotiation on extending the cycle and additional fees).

• Instalment Payment:a. Deposit: 30% of the total amount (within 3 working days after the agreement is signed);b. Mid-term payment: 30% of the total amount after the preliminary sketch is finalized and confirmed by the customer;c. Final payment: 40% of the total amount after coloring is completed and confirmed by the customer, after which delivery arrangements will be made.

Note: The customer shall confirm within 3 working days after receiving the progress feedback. Failure to reply within the time limit shall be deemed as default confirmation. If the cycle is extended due to delayed confirmation, the customer shall bear the responsibility.

IV. Delivery of Sacred Objects: Collection and Inheritance (Compliance and Protection in Parallel)

1. Acceptance and Confirmation

Upon completion of the finished product, we will provide comprehensive detailed photos (including overall effect, color details, brushwork details, texture of mineral pigments/gold foil, etc., with no less than 10 photos). The customer may put forward acceptance opinions. If there are issues that do not conform to the agreement (such as theme deviation, craftsmanship defects, excessive size error), we can make rectifications according to the customer’s opinions.

2. Professional Packaging and Delivery

• Packaging Standards: Double-layer protective packaging is adopted (moisture-proof cotton + scratch-proof oil paper for the inner layer; hard cardboard box + anti-collision foam for the outer layer). For large-sized Thangkas, an additional wooden frame is added for fixation to ensure no damage during transportation.

• Delivery Method: Insured transportation services provided by internationally renowned logistics companies are used (the insured amount is consistent with the total customization amount). Logistics costs shall be borne by us (additional negotiation is required for remote areas or special transportation needs). The customer shall bear the insurance fee and all taxes and fees stipulated by the laws of the customer’s country.

• Logistics Tracking: The consultant will synchronize the logistics tracking number and transportation status in real time, allowing the customer to track the entire process. The customer shall inspect the integrity of the packaging on the spot upon receipt. If the packaging is damaged, the customer shall take photos for retention, reject the goods on the spot, and contact the consultant for handling.

3. Supporting Collection Certificates

• Complete Certificates Enclosed with the Thangka: A Regong Thangka Collection Certificate signed by the painter in person is included, which indicates core information such as the work’s name, theme, style, size, creation time, painter’s information, and craftsmanship description.

• Reservation for Consecration Ceremony: Some eligible works (which need to be agreed in the agreement in advance) support reservation for consecration ceremonies. The customer can choose formal consecration services provided by our cooperative monasteries (the time and location of the consecration ceremony need to be negotiated in advance, and relevant fees shall be calculated separately). After the consecration, a on-site video of the consecration ceremony will be provided to endow the sacred object with greater significance of spiritual inheritance.
